Instructors
Arcadia Pony Club provides quality coaching to our members by instructors with deep equestrian skills. All of the Arcadia Pony Club Instructors have qualified in the Pony Club Association NSW Instructors Programme or the recently implemented National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) for Pony Club Australia.
All instructional coaching at Arcadia Pony Club is delivered in accordance with established guidelines for coaching of Riding and Horse Management by Pony Club Australia.

Leanne
Senior Instructor and Club Captain 2010
Leanne was one of the founding members of Arcadia Pony Club when it commenced. She rode competitively in all disciplines. In addition to riding to a high level within Pony Club she attained all of her Pony Club Certificates up to the highest, A Certificate. She was the 10th person in NSW to achieve an A Certificate and the first person in Zone 23 to ever attain such a high level.
Building on these successes she then trained as a Pony Club Instructor to the highest level available at the time - PC NSW Level 2 and spent 10 years coaching at Arcadia Pony Club, four of those as Chief Instructor.
Outside Pony Club Leanne competed in Eventing and judged for dressage and hacking. Recently she has turned her hand to assisting in the preparation of show horses.
She also has over 20 years of primary school teaching experience now holding an Assistant Principal role at the local Primary School. She enjoys helping each child be the best they can and have fun with their ponies and one another at Pony Club.
Melanie
Melanie was an Arcadia Pony Club member in her teens riding in many disciplines and representing the Club and Zone at the Sydney Royal in Show Riding.
She has instructed at Arcadia Pony Club for a number of years and in 2009 held the position of Senior Instructor introducing a diverse range of Pony Club approved activities resulting in a significant membership increase of the under 12yrs membership in 2009. She also participated in and championed the new National Coaching Accreditation Scheme for Pony Club Instructors to increase the quality and volume of instructors available to our members.
She has experience in organizing and running Pony Club competitions, as well organizing youth activities in a professional capacity. When time permits she is a competitor at the local Adult Riding Club and enjoys riding for pleasure, on the trails with her daughter & friends.
Andrea
Andrea began her riding experiences in the very formal German system before immigrating to Australia. She found the riding in Australia more informal and relaxed and began enjoying long trail rides and swimming with her horses.
Outside coaching at Pony Club and supporting her daughter in riding activities she finds time to ride competitively in Adult Riding Club events, dressage, hacking and breed shows.
With her own experiences in Germany and Australia she brings the best of correct sensitive riding with the important aspect of having fun with your horse to the Pony Club members in her coaching.
Melissa
Mel attended Arcadia Pony Club in her younger years enjoying the diverse range of equestrian activities on offer rejoining again this time as parent when her children came of riding age.
She has Equestrian specific qualifications in Horse Industry Operations and Management and has held management roles in local Studs with experience in breeding, management of young stock, production for the show ring and for sale to prospective clients.
In addition she has taught in an Equestrian Centre specializing in teaching young children to ride on the Equestrian Centre School horses. Mel owns, manages and runs the day to day operations of two agistment centres in the local area. She is also a keen competitor in the show ring and currently competes at State and National level with her horses.
Jason
Jason since joining Pony Club in 2006 to support his daughter has specialized in the newcomers, D and D* riders, creating fun lessons, activities and events for those riders who are in the first few years of both riding and Pony Club. This focus has resulted in a significant increase in the under 12s membership.
Jason has helped develop activities and events such as the Newcomers One Day Event whereby those who have limited skill or may be young/new to riding can experience competition in a safe, fun environment encouraging participation and experiences over winning.
As well as his Pony Club coaching, organizing and running Pony Club events he enjoys riding and has recently begun showing in hand at breed shows.
Anne
Anne joined Pony Club when her daughters were of riding age in 2006. She has 20 years of horse management and riding experience including competitive dressage.
Her background and equestrian skills include organizing and volunteer roles at competitions including penciling, marshalling, scoring and judge selection at dressage competitions and Pony Club events.
Outside coaching at Pony Club and assisting her daughters with their riding Anne is schooling her young dressage horse in preparation for competition.
Joyce
Joyce was a riding member of Pony Club in Tasmania competing in the many and varied disciplines throughout her youth. Now that her own children are of Pony Club age she has been a member of Arcadia Pony Club for a number of years as a parent and coach.
During her teen years as well as Pony Club she worked and trained horses on her parents Arab Stud and competed in Endurance riding.
Outside Pony Club she has trains carriage horses and competes up to State Level in carriage driving. She also competes with her horses in Adult Riding Club events such as show jumping and sporting and enjoys trail riding in the local area with her daughters.
Alison
Alison has equestrian experience in NZ, UK and Australia. Her experience includes Hunting as well as competitive show jumping and Eventing.
She has been involved with Pony Club New Zealand as a riding member and Pony Club Australia as a parent and coach. She has been a member of Adult Riding Clubs for the past 20 years and has held committee as well as phase head positions. She has experience in organization of events, penciling, marshalling and judging.
Outside Pony Club she competes on her own horse at local show jumping competitions and enjoys trail riding with her husband and children.
